What is it?


Buildings that have been in existence for 40 years or longer need to be inspected to determine its' current structural, general and electrical condition.



Who needs it?


Property owners in Miami-Dade county, Broward county, and Palm Beach county.


"In Miami-Dade County, all buildings except for single-family homes, duplexes, and buildings that have an occupant load of 10 or less and 2,000 square feet or less.


In Broward County, it applies to all buildings except single-family homes, duplexes, those less than 3,500 square feet, and U.S. government or Florida state government buildings that are built on Indian reservations."

Why do you need it?


A Florida registered professional engineer or architect must certify each building or structure is structurally and electrically safe for the specified use for continued occupancy.
